Description :

The athletes listed in this widget could be at risk of training a bit hard for a bit too long. It is not a guarantee that they will get injured or Ill. It reflects that they have been pushing their training pretty hard and my need some intervention by the coach, a conversation at a minimum.

How is this Calculated

  • We only look at athletes who have had a 28 day rolling average that has been over 50 ETS (what is ETS) for 5 days or more.

  • Then we count the number of days that an athlete has been in the Red Zone for their Training Load Ratio (See other article)

  • Depending on the training load the athlete is tolerating then we will give them an at risk warning after a defined number of days

Red at Risk

  • 28 day ETS Rolling average

    • 50-90 they will get a warning if they are in the Red Zone for 3 days or more

    • 91-110 they will get the warning if they are in the Red Zone for 4 days or more

    • 110-130 they will get the warning if they are in the Red Zone for 5 days or more

    • 131+ they will get the warning if they are in the Red Zone for 6 days or more

Grey at Risk

  • There is also a de-training warning if the athlete fails to upload/enter some data for 3 days or more.

Example:

Athlete A has been training for about a week until their 28 day rolling average is over 50 ETS (5th October 2024). From that point forward we track her ETS and her Training Load Ratio. If after 5 days she is still over 50 ETS, then from that day we count back until the 5th of October and see if they are in the red zone on that day.

On day 5 - 9th of October 2024 she is in the Red Zone and has been for more than three days, We post her name in the ‘At Risk Widget’
