Strength and conditioning (S&C) is a major part of training and in Ludum we want to make the collection and view of this data easy for the coach and athlete.

This guide will show you:

  • How to create a S&C session

  • How to add data to the session

  • How to view the session data

How to create a S&C session

Creating a S&C session is different to other sessions because of the different structure of data that is collected and the bespoke nature of weight training.

Session Detail
To get started with making a S&C session press create session and select  S&C as the session type. You will need to add some detail to the session like:

  • Date and Time

  • Total Time for Session

You can also add additional information for the session like:

  • Location

  • Focuses

  • Tags

Attendance
The next step is to add athletes to the session. Select the athletes you want to complete the session. These athletes will be need when creating the exercises for them to complete.

Work Structure
The Work Structure is where you build the data structure for collecting data. This structure is very different to other sessions as you are able to create groups.

The first thing you need to do is create a group. Group names can be anything like Core Exercises or Senior Squad.

Once you've named the group you can select the athletes that are part of the group. You can select all athletes or just some. The selected athletes will be able to see exercises you've made for this group.

You can start adding exercises to the group. For each exercise you can set the number of sets and repetitions that you want to be lifted for the exercise. We have pre-populated the list of exercises but you can always add your custom exercises.

Once you have completed building your groups you can publish the session. The athletes will now see the session and the exercises they have been given.

How to add data to the session

Now that the session is made you'll be able to see the details that you have made. Here is a look at the example we've just made.

You can see all the details of the session including the groups and their exercises.

Entering Data as a Coach
As a coach you are able to add scores to the session by pressing the Add Scores button. This will open a slider that will allow you to enter the weights data for each athlete on the session.

Once you have entered your data you can save and view the results. This will take you to the results page of the session. More details shown in Section below: How to view session data

Entering Data as an Athlete
The athletes that you have added to the session will be able to add their own data to the session for the groups that they have been added to.

Athletes that are in multiple groups will see their additional exercises in the dropdown.

How to view the session data

Once the data has been entered as a coach you will be able to see the results of every athlete. Whilst your athletes will only be able to see their own results.

Coach View
As a coach you are will see the results for all the athletes by total tonnage, by exercise and by athlete. There is also a table for with all the data to be viewed.

Athlete View
The athlete is only able to view their own data for S&C sessions, other sessions they can see data from others if the session is set to competitive.

The athlete can see the total they have lifted for all exercises and a breakdown by sets. There is also a table with all the data.

This guide we hope will explain the amount of information that can be collected for S&C sessions within Rowers.
