Before proceeding please make sure the PM5 Monitor has the most up to date firmware uploaded. Go to the Concept 2 site to see how to do that. (https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware)

N.B. Our advice would be to use a USB memory stick!!

  1. By connecting your Ludum app to the Concept2 PM5 monitor via Bluetooth you can now record all the training data directly into Ludum without the need for manual entry or Screenshots.

  2. If the planned session has pieces programmed into the session plan then you can use the App to set the PM5 Monitor.

  3. YES! It does work for Erg, SkiErg and ErgBike!!

HOW IT WORKS

A) If you have a session in your Ludum Calendar

Step 1: Turn on your PM5 and connect your Heart Rate monitor (if you want to record your heart rate but don't want it to be displayed on the PM5 you can connect it directly to the Ludum app later).

Step 2: Open the Training Session in your App, click on the blue '+' sign in the bottom right hand corner followed by the red "Record Session" option.

Step 3: Connect your Ludum App to the PM5 by clicking the bluetooth icon in the app and the Connect option on the PM5 menu. If there are many in the room, double check the PM5 ID number on your PM5 screen matches the PM5 you select in the App. (Note: you can also connect your HR strap directly to the app this way)

Step 4: Press the round play button at the bottom of the phone screen to begin your training.

Step 5: If the planned session has a work structure programmed you will be promoted with the structure. If you want to do what is planned simply press “Set PM5 Automatically”. We will do the rest. If you want to do a different session then simply press SKIP.

B) If you have no session in the Ludum Calendar

Step 1: Turn on your PM5 and if you want your HR displayed on the monitor, connect your Heart Rate monitor to the PM5 in the usual way.

Step 2: Open the Ludum App and click on the record icon found on the bottom menu, select "Indoor Rowing" as the sport type.

Step 4: Set the Session on the PM5 Manually

Step 5: Pull the Handle to get going

Step 6: At the end of the session press MENU (Note: press it before the last rest interval runs out)
